Notes on applying for a permanent resident visa on your own. A few words of advice.

1. If you do not meet the requirements for a permanent resident visa, you will not be able to obtain one until you meet the requirements. You should wait until you meet the requirements, because once you are denied, the screening process will be more difficult when you apply again.

e.g. If you apply to change your visa "Engineer / Specialist in Humanities / International Services"  to Permanent Residence, you must meet the income requirements for the last five years. For a one-person household, the annual income should be more than JPY 3,000,000, and for each additional dependent, JPY 800,000 is added.

2. Your statement of reasons is very important. Ideally, it should be two A4-size sheets.
